Run audits for broken links, missing image alt text, and thin or missing meta descriptions
Answer questions about your content and how your site is structured
The work happens in your real Webflow project, on your real content. You are not copying and pasting between tools.
What you need before you start

Connect Claude to your Webflow site
The fastest way is the built-in Webflow connector. Setup takes about five minutes.
Open Claude and start a new chat.
Click the plus icon in the message box, then click Add connectors.
Search for Webflow. If you do not see it, switch the view from Featured to All.
Click the Webflow connector, then click Connect.
Sign in to Webflow if you are asked, choose the sites you want Claude to work on, and click Authorize.
Type your first instruction.
That is the whole setup. From now on, Claude can work on the sites you approved.
Where you can use it
You can manage your site from wherever you already use Claude:
Claude desktop app or browser. The simplest option for most people. Connect once, then type.
Developer tools. If your team works in Cursor, VS Code, or Claude Code, Claude can connect to your site there too, using the same approval steps.
Most content and page work needs nothing extra. If you want Claude to work visually on the live canvas, open your site in the Webflow Designer, start the Webflow helper app from the Apps panel, and leave it running while you work.
Example prompts to try
Plain instructions work best. A few to start with:
List all my CMS collections and show me their fields.
Audit my site for broken links, missing alt text, and short meta descriptions, and give me the results as a list.
Add a featured image to every blog post that is missing one.
Build a hero section with a headline, a short paragraph, and a button that links to my contact page.
Update the copyright year in the footer across the whole site.
Save your audits and notes for later
If you use Claude in a developer tool like Cursor or Claude Code, keep a folder for each site and save audit results, change notes, and useful prompts as files. This gives you a record you can review later and a simple way to track what changed over time. In the desktop app or browser, copy the results into a document so you keep the same history.
Keep every change safe
Letting AI touch your live site sounds risky. It is not, as long as a few basics are in place, and Webflow builds most of them in:
Your permissions apply. Claude can only do what your Webflow role allows. It cannot go beyond your own access.
Every change is logged. Actions show up in your site activity log, so you can see exactly what Claude did.
Work in a branch. You can make changes in a branch and publish only when you are happy with them.
Review before publishing. Always check the work before it goes live, especially bulk changes that repeat across many items.
Build your site so Claude works well
AI manages a site well when the site is built for it. That means clean components, structured content, and clear brand rules, so Claude stays on brand and does not guess. Do I need to be a developer to use it?
